Gemma’s Pregnancy - Week 32

There are only 8 weeks left until our new baby boy is born.

Everything is progressing as it should be, as we had confirmed today with an ultrasound scan. It was a growth scan to check that baby was growing as he should be, after a “soft marker” showed up at an earlier scan.

The scan showed that he showed no sign of the hypoechogenic bowel that was previously present, and also that he was on target for the size that he should be at this stage of the pregnancy.

Gemma is getting really uncomfortable with each passing day, having to carry all the extra weight around. It does make things a little difficult, especially sleeping at night. Not long to go now babe. It will all be worth it in the end.

If the extra weight wasn’t enough to stop Gemma sleeping properly, then the leg cramps certainly are. They strike at all hours of the night, which disturbs Gemma’s sleep even more than usual.

Each passing day makes me more and more nervous. It makes me nervous because within the next few weeks labour could start at any time. It’s in the back of my mind that I hope that the labour is not too quick, especially as I work about an hour from home.

You wouldn’t think that we’d done this before.

Till next time …

I have done it 3 times and each time I was nervous. It won’t be long for you both now. I’ll be praying for you both. So do you have any names picked out?

  2. Gareth Says:

Yeah, we’ve got a name picked out for him, but I’m waiting for the big day to reveal what it is to the world. Probably being a little superstitious. :)
So, you’ll just have to watch this space…

I hear ya. I am “crapping” myself bigtime. I work close to home and to her work, so that isnt a problem. It is that it is just over 10 weeks away and last time I checked it was 20 weeks away. I juset finished decorating the nursery…still have to get furniture. Ugh. Man, it is hard!!

  4. Gareth Says:

Time flies when you’re having fun, doesn’t it?
Our nursery is pretty much sorted, just waiting for Ellie’s new bed to arrive so that I can turn her bed back into a cot for the baby. God knows when its going to get here, it’s been put back 5 times already!
Won’t be long now. In a weird sort of way it seems like its ages off, but then reality hits and you soon realise that its nearer than you think.

  5. Sy Says:

Especially when they could come early so if anything, technically it could be any time now. Obviously I am hoping she stays in there for a good lot more weeks yet, but it does show just how close it is.
