I searched on the web and this seems to be not very common in pregnant cases, also read some of the risks that really terified me. I do hope that the bright area is actually the uterus blood that the baby has swallowed.
Enjoy your anxious days waiting for the baby to come!

I wouldn't worry too much, chances are it is probably nothing. 99 times out of a 100 there may have been a very tiny bleed early on and the baby swallowed some of it. This is what seemed to happen with us. When we had a scan at 32 weeks, there was no sign of the bright area on the scan.
I hope it all goes well for you, good luck!!

Hi Gareth. I am just passing by and find your blog. I am so so worried because my 18 week baby is just diagnosed with Hyperechogenic bowel too. I've had my blood sample for tripple test this morning and have to wait for the result. Now I am really scared and don't know what to do but to pray that everything will be ok with my baby. Congratulations that you could relief the worry away and hope that I am that lucky, too.

Best wishes for your family!
